History
The history of Doberman Pinscher dates back to the late 19th century. For the first time, it was bred by a German tax collector - Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann in Germany in the 1860s, following the Franco-Prussian War. He decided to create a watchdog and bodyguard that is capable of handling any given situation. Hence, he bred German Pinschers with Rottweilers, Beauceron, Pinschers, Manchester Terriers, Greyhounds and English Greyhound to give rise to Doberman Pinscher. It marked it first appearance at a dog show in 1876. Subsequently, the dog gained immense popularity among the pet lovers. Today, it serves as the perfect police squad dog as well as a domestic pet.

Appearance
Doberman Pinscher is blessed with a sturdy appearance, with perfect body-to head ratio. It is a medium sized dog, with a square body frame. Therefore, the length of the dog is almost equivalent to its height. In addition, the length of its head, neck and legs are generally in the right proportion to its body. It bears a hard, short-haired coat, which comes in fawn, red, blue, black and tank, and black colors. Although they are aloof and reserved to strangers, proper socialization would promote good terms with children, other dogs and household pets. Dobermans are aggressive towards intruders. One must be very careful and consistent in training Dobermans. Hitting or pressurizing them during the early stages of training is strictly not recommended.
